Course summary
The Shadow contains more than simply suppressed or repressed negative traits. It includes aspects of the personality that have been excluded from conscious awareness because they conflict with the ego’s preferred self-image. These may include capacities, emotions, impulses, qualities and unrealised possibilities that the conscious personality finds difficult to acknowledge or accept.
Shadow Work, therefore, is not simply about identifying and confronting the negative aspects of ourselves. It also involves recognising those parts of the personality that have been overlooked, rejected or left undeveloped.
This 6 week course aims to develop a deeper understanding of the Shadow and to explore, in practical terms how to identify and work with these images as part of our individuation processes.
