This lecture series is intended for those who have studied Helen’s Beginner’s Tarot Course
The Major Arcana reveal an inner path laid down countless millennia ago. This Mystical Path takes the seeker into the ancient origins of the human mind to encounter the archetypal forces of evolution and undertake the task of Individuation.
Jung said that when we walk this path we will find an unshakeable truth, a foundation for our lives; we become rooted in a larger reality that gives us resilience, endurance and meaning in the face of the changes and setbacks in life. We become less constrained and shaped by our internal dialogue, we become more fluid and dynamic with a wider range of choices because we are not caught in the ego’s fixed positions. Our actions will then unfold from the Spirit Personality objectively, as acts of a Warrior - a Person of Knowledge.
We will explore 3 Major Arcana in detail – The Hanged Man XII, Death XIII, Temperance XIV to deepen our understanding of the task before us.
We will revise Jung’s concepts of the complexes, the Archetypes, the Self, the Shadow, the Transcendent Function, the Collective Unconscious and Individuation.
We will take a look at how myths can unfold the wisdom teachings contained in these 3 Major Arcana. Jung believed that myths have the potential to raise individual consciousness because they tell the story of what it means to be human; they are concerned with transfiguration, with changing our perceptions - the objective of all spiritual paths.
We will also explore the Sacred Design of our archetypal nature by way of certain indigenous teachings of the Elders, using Jungian psychology to guide us.
